Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Suviy mobile app and related services. Please read them carefully. By using Suviy you agree to these Terms.
1. Who provides Suviy
Suviy is operated by an independent developer based in Ukraine. For Terms-related questions, contact legal@suviy.app.
2. What Suviy does
Suviy is a news aggregator. We collect publicly available headlines from third-party publishers and link readers to the original articles. We do not write, edit, or guarantee the accuracy of any article we display. AI-generated summaries and translations, when offered, are provided as a convenience and may contain errors — see § 8.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Suviy. If you are under 16, please do not register or use the service. If we learn that a user is under 16, we will close the account.
4. Your account
You are responsible for the security of your password and for any activity on your account. Notify us at support@suviy.app if you suspect unauthorized access. We may require re-verification of your email address from time to time.
You can delete your account at any time — see the deletion page or use Settings inside the app.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service in violation of any law.
- Scrape, mass-download, or programmatically harvest content via the API in ways not documented for normal app use.
- Submit content (in comments or other social features) that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or infringes third-party rights.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, AI quotas, or authentication mechanisms.
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code from the app or backend other than as permitted by mandatory law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
6. User-generated content
You retain ownership of comments and other content you post. By posting, you grant Suviy a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display that content within the app and to other users. You are solely responsible for the content you post.
We may remove user-generated content that violates these Terms or that publishers, users, or law-enforcement authorities flag as illegal, without prior notice.
7. Third-party content (articles)
Articles displayed in Suviy belong to their publishers. In the article-list views we show a short extract (typically a single sentence, capped server-side). When the source's public feed (RSS or equivalent) publishes the full article body, we display the body inside the article-detail view for reading convenience. We do this under a good-faith assumption that publication in a public feed implies a licence to display the content to feed consumers; we acknowledge that some publishers may disagree, and we honour their wishes on request without dispute. All trademarks shown belong to their respective owners.
Publishers wishing to opt out at any granularity (a single article, a category, or all of a source's content), or who notice an issue with how their content is presented, should write to legal@suviy.app. We respond within 7 days and remove or correct within 14 days, with no requirement to prove infringement and no negotiation about scope.
The list of sources we currently aggregate is at https://api.suviy.app/legal/sources.
8. AI-generated content
Suviy can generate article summaries and translations using a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI). These outputs are produced by a machine-learning model and may contain errors, omissions, hallucinations, or biases. They are not a substitute for the original article. The canonical version of any article is the one published by the original source.
AI features are clearly labelled inside the app. You can choose not to use them. Where the law (e.g. Apple's App Store guideline 5.1.2(i)) requires it, we will obtain your explicit consent before sending article content to the AI provider for the first time.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
10. Intellectual property
The Suviy app, name, logo, and the structure, ranking, and presentation of the aggregated feed are owned by us. These Terms do not transfer any ownership of those rights to you. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights in third-party publishers' articles beyond what those publishers themselves permit on their websites.
11. Disclaimers
Suviy is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that articles, summaries, or translations are accurate, current, or complete. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in your country, which always apply regardless of these Terms.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Suviy or its operator be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded under mandatory law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at €50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater. Suviy is currently free; the cap therefore is the symbolic amount above.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited (which under EU consumer law includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
13. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, abuse the service, or if continued provision becomes unlawful or impractical. Where reasonable we will give you advance notice. You can terminate your account at any time by deleting it (see § 4).
14. Where the service is offered
Suviy is offered globally with one exception: the service is not directed to users in the Russian Federation. We do not market the app in that jurisdiction and have not adapted it to Russian data-localization law.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be brought in the competent courts at the operator's place of residence in Ukraine, except that EU consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence under applicable mandatory consumer law.
EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms over time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where reasonable, notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
